Greetings Key Families,
It was another great week of learning at Key MS! Our students continue to master new content and skills as they progress through the third quarter. We had our STEM Fair Thursday evening, with students collaborating with teachers and professional engineers on a STEM competition. This was a great event that allowed for positive community engagement and problem-based learning experiences for our students.
Next week, many of our students will participate in WIDA testing, so there will be some modifications to our usual schedule. Your student has been notified when they are testing. Our teachers are prepared to provide additional flexibility and support to ensure all students are able to stay on pace with course requirements even if they have to miss classes for testing. If you do have any questions, you can always reach out to individual teachers or your student’s counselor. More information about both of these topics are included below!
Have a great weekend,
Principal | Key Middle School
Next week we will be conducting WIDA testing for our ESOL level 1-4 students. WIDA is a four part test. Please plan to have your child attend school on time and not leave early on February 27, February 28 and March 1. Our schedule is adjusted for all students as a result of this testing.Last Call for Yearbooks!

These position come with a stipend! Our goal is to motivate and inspire our students to enjoy the experience and hopefully stick with running into high school. We had success in our fall cross country season, and our kids had fun, learned the values of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance while participating in a competitive, interscholastic sport. If you are interested in being a coach for the Key MS track team, please reach out to Principal Campbell at [email protected].New Tech Support Feature
Our tech support reporting system has a new feature allowing students to provide feedback to our tech support team. Most students are using this feature responsibly, but we have seen some examples of students using the feature to make jokes or give negative feedback that is not constructive. Since this is a new feature, we would appreciate your support in encouraging students to use is appropriately and intentionally. Thank you!Family Webinar

EXPIRES: May 1, 2024
In the coming weeks, our school will be introducing a new classroom management tool that will help teachers better connect with student devices during classes. The new tool will provide teachers with a number of helpful features:
- Easily view student screens in real time from the teacher console to see which students may need guidance or support.
- Focus student attention on a particular website on their device to minimize distractions.
- Pause student access to the internet to focus on other classroom tasks.
We believe this classroom management tool will allow us to maximize class time to support your student’s learning while at school. Please let us know if you have any questions.FCPS News
